Hanging by a Thread (Parsley)
This digital work explores the nature of the homonym 'print'. A traditional print (zinc plate etching) has been digitally inserted into a digital print (giclee) that features construction cranes with oversized plants as sky. One of the issues faced by traditional printmakers today is that they use ageless manual methods to realise their creative goals, their fine art prints; while digital creations can be reproduced in line with the common meaning of the noun print which frequently refers to reproduce a copy at the instant of the verbal command print. Since we are all equipped with printers, we demote/drop the fine art print to the wastebasket of reproduction or copy.
