Using the convention of the Tableau as a framework I aim to explore how our unconscious desires manifest themselves inside mundane everyday experience. By distorting the picture plane I am attempting to freeze the transformations of a domestic, everyday situation into an in-between hyper-reality. Through my work, I seek to heighten the constant tension between desires and resolution, dreams and realisations, potential and compromise. By layering these worlds I aim to do more than juxtapose them; I intend to create a jarring awkwardness, a space of conflict between dreams and reality.
