Artist Statement

I am concerned with issues of injustice and power in society. Alongside this is an interest in bodily organs/structures and embodiment. They come together in a fundamental question: how can we stomach injustice?

Recently I have been exploring the sculptural potential of crochet, sometimes in unusual materials such as deconstructed coffee sacks, fishing line and wire. The crochet technique is both mathematical and intuitive, with unlimited potential.
