ReNew Lace
Traditionally lace draws upon natural motifs, imagery consisting of flowers, leaves and shells. I have gone in the opposite direction and explored lace that occurs naturally in living things. Specifically looking at Spider Webs, Dragonfly wings and Coral, my final outcome is not typical “lace”. It takes the themes and structure of the lace pattern and then re-contextualises it to make interesting textured pieces.
