Nebulae

Gunpowder, redgum and turmeric on paper. 134cm (l) x 130cm (w) Nebulae are faint patches of light, which are other galaxies at great distances. In order for the light to appear so small and faint , the distances have to be so great that light from them takes millions or even billions of years to reach us on Earth. It's fascinating that if a galaxy no longer exists we could still see it a billion years later.
