Artist Statement

My work explores the feminine identity as a daily performance.The series First Impressions Count examines the process of a female routine. In particular the work addresses how one particular individual intervenes with their body. The results of these interventions and routines remove the body from view and leave a series of marks, creating a narrative that can be interpreted back to their origins of the female body. (2011)
