Artist Statement

My current work explores notions of memory and time. Focusing specifically on the filtering and blurring of memory. The work uses the physical properties of layering silk, light and space, to explore the idea of memory as an emotional impression rather than a factual record of an event, ultimately investigating the reality that memories are susceptible to alteration, as we move further away from the original source.

Although from a painting background, my practice has developed to incorporate photography, installation and video, allowing the different approaches to inform one another. This enables a more varied exploration into ideas about memory.
