Artist Statement

‘genius loci’ is a personal investigation into the power that Experience, Memory and Imagination posses in forming the instinctual and often lifelong connections one may feel towards a particular landscape.

Captured without the sharp focus of a lens, the images of this series attempt to speak of a personal relationship with a specific site while simultaneously evoking an overall sense of place, or genius loci, allowing an external landscape to function as a space for the imagination.
