Artist Statement

‘Prevention’

Major Project: Proposed Capsule Collection for Cancer Council Australia. Conceptually bound to natural disasters that are occurring as a result of global warming and changing weather patterns (in-focus; fire, flood and drought). Aimed to raise awareness about rising cases of skin cancer.

‘The Coloured Garment; A Measure of Sun Protection’

Honour: (continuation of major project): Testing and evaluating the UV protectiveness of three identical print designs. The only variable between each design is colour. The project is based upon a publication published by The American Chemical Journal, which concluded that different colours provided varying degrees of UV protectiveness.
