Artist Statement

The Hidden Harvest series focuses on the consequences of human consumption and the subsequent concealment.

My work investigates the consideration of hidden surface design and the unique relationship and physical bond formed between a piece of jewellery and the wearer.

The decaying metal surface is hidden from an outsider’s view, concealed between the wearer’s body and the ornate paper design, but always resting close to the heart of the wearer.

The materials relate to the relationship we have with the natural environment, utilising silver, paper and the textured surfaces of skeletal leaves to achieve aesthetically pleasing and distracting wearable forms.
